The excessive use of plastics in our homes generates a progressive increase in pollution, destroyed ecosystems, infertile lands, extinction of species, and the proliferation of the components of this type of plastic, Polypropylene, (derived from petroleum ) and Ethylene Polymerization.

In Chile we produce 456 kilos of garbage per person per year -1.08 kilos per day- of which 11% is plastic waste.

Studies show that every year 8 million tons of plastic reach the Pacific Ocean and it is estimated that by 2050, for every ton of fish in the ocean, there will also be one ton of plastic.

Another reason is because it can cause serious diseases such as cancer among others. To give you an idea, plastic releases more than 130 toxic substances.
